WINDOW ROCK, Arizona, Jan. 31 -- The Navajo Nation Government issued the following news release on Jan. 30, 2025:

On Tuesday, the 25th Navajo Nation Council unanimously passed emergency legislation urging New Mexico Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham to appoint a Navajo citizen to fill the vacant seat in New Mexico's House District 6.
