Cherokee Nation Marshal Shannon Buhl Sworn in for Third Term After Confirmation by Council

TAHLEQUAH, Oklahoma, Nov. 17 -- The Cherokee Nation, a federally-recognized Native American tribe, issued the following news release:

Cherokee Nation Marshal Shannon Buhl was sworn in to begin his third term as the tribe's head law enforcement officer Tuesday afternoon following a vote of confirmation by the Council of the Cherokee Nation Monday evening.

Buhl, of Tahlequah, was first sworn in as Cherokee Nation Marshal in 2011.
