LAWRENCE, Kansas, Oct. 23 -- The University of Kansas issued the following news:
Nearly one in five adults in the United States live with a mental illness, according to the National Alliance on Mental Health. Yet many people who experience mental illness don't seek treatment. A study by the National Council for Behavioral Health cites several factors: high cost and insufficient insurance coverage, lack of awareness, access to providers and social stigma.
