TAHLEQUAH, Oklahoma, March 12 -- The Cherokee Nation, a federally-recognized Native American tribe, issued the following news release:

The Cherokee Nation Tribal Council authorized the donation of surplus equipment to four community organizations and a local school during the legislative body's March meeting.

Donations included a vehicle and office equipment to Vian Peace Center in Sequoyah County; a freezer and two stoves to Mid-County Community Organization in Adair C . . .
