Rapid demand improvements on the transpacific trade lane helped boost cargo volumes in May, while macroeconomic indicators suggest a positive outlook for the remainder of the year.
The latest figures from airline association IATA show that air cargo demand in tonne km terms (CTK) increased by 6% year on year in May. For the year to date, cargo volumes are up 4.1% on last year's levels.
