Combined Federal Campaign Donations Hit Ten-year High (10)

The Combined Federal Campaign, which was originally scheduled to end on Jan. 11, was re-opened for an additional 18 days in February due to the government shutdown.
Thanks in part to those extra days, donations to the campaign on the installation hit a ten-year high.

Peace Corps Celebrates 58 Years During Peace Corps Week (10)
WASHINGTON, Feb. 25 -- The Peace Corps issued the following news release:
Every year, Peace Corps Week memorializes President John F. Kennedy's establishment of the Peace Corps on March 1, 1961, and celebrates the many ways the agency makes a positive impact in communities around the world. Throughout the week, the Peace Corps community will participate in events that celebrate and recognize its 58th birthday. This year, Peace Corps Week will run from Feb. 24 to March 2.

Sen. Markey Introduces Bill on Civilian Nuclear Cooperation Agreement With Saudi Arabia (10)
WASHINGTON, March 1 -- Sen. Edward J. Markey, D-Mass., has introduced legislation (S. 612) to "require a joint resolution of approval for the entry into effect of a civilian nuclear cooperation agreement with Saudi Arabia."
The bill was introduced on Feb. 28 and was co-sponsored by Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla. It was referred to the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.

WASHINGTON, Feb. 28 -- Sen. Edward J. Markey, D-Mass., has introduced legislation (S. 570) to "conduct or support further comprehensive research for the creation of a universal influenza vaccine."
