WASHINGTON, Oct. 31 -- The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Business and Cooperative Programs announced that it expects to award up to 1,000 mandatory grants for renewable energy systems and energy efficiency improvements. The estimated total program funding available was cited as $35.4 million with a ceiling of $500,000 for each award in the program.
