WASHINGTON, Aug. 20 -- Seven environmental and conservation organizations have submitted a public comment letter to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) expressing strong opposition to the proposed approval of Indiana's 2021 State Implementation Plan (SIP) for managing regional haze. The conservation groups assert that Indiana's plan is fundamentally flawed and fails to meet the requisite standards set forth in both the Clean Air Act and the EPA's Regional Haze Rule (RHR).
