Washington State Urges U.S. Interior Department To Modify Regulations For Cultural Resource Protection (10)
WASHINGTON, July 15 -- The Washington State Department of Archaeology and Historic Preservation submitted a public comment letter to the U.S. Department of the Interior advocating for modifications in existing regulations to alleviate regulatory burdens while preserving cultural heritage. The agency expressed concern that historic, archaeological, and cultural sites need adequate protection and that these irreplaceable resources should guide project reviews.
