Budd Co-Sponsors Bill to Impose Sanctions on the Taliban (10)
WASHINGTON, June 17 -- Sen. Ted Budd, R-North Carolina, issued the following news release:
Senator Ted Budd (R-NC) has co-sponsored S. 1768 to impose sanctions on the Taliban government in Afghanistan.
The bill was originally introduced by Senator James Risch (R-ID).
Under the bill, sanctions could be suspended only if the Taliban government meets the following benchmarks:
* Publicly and privately break all ties with other terrorist groups, including al Qaeda.

Tillis Co-Introduces Bipartisan Bill to Improve Reporting of Veterans' Cancer Cases (10)
WASHINGTON, June 17 -- Sen. Thom Tillis, R-North Carolina, issued the following news release:
Senator Thom Tillis recently co-introduced the Counting Veterans' Cancer Act, bipartisan legislation that would ensure veterans' cancer cases are fully accounted for in national cancer registries.
