Rep. Raskin Introduces Corporate Crime Database Act (10)
WASHINGTON, Dec. 1 -- Rep. Jamie Raskin, D-Md., has introduced the Corporate Crime Database Act (H.R. 9362) "to direct the Director of the Bureau of Justice Statistics to establish a database with respect to corporate offenses."
The bill was introduced on Nov. 29 and was co-sponsored by Rep. Mary Gay Scanlon, D-Pa. It was jointly referred to the House Judiciary and Oversight and Reform committees.

Sen. Murphy Introduces Strengthening Consumer Protections & Medical Debt Transparency Act (10)
WASHINGTON, Dec. 2 -- Sen. Christopher S. Murphy, D-Conn., has introduced the Strengthening Consumer Protections and Medical Debt Transparency Act (S. 5150) "to amend the Public Health Service Act to provide additional transparency and consumer protections relating to medical debt collection practices."
The bill was introduced on Nov. 30 and was co-sponsored by Sen. Chris Van Hollen, D-Md. It was referred to the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee.

Sen. Van Hollen Introduces Bill to Promote African Continental Free Trade Area (10)
WASHINGTON, Dec. 2 -- Sen. Chris Van Hollen, D-Md., has introduced legislation (S. 5154) to "promote the African Continental Free Trade Area."
