WASHINGTON, Aug. 18 -- The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, through the Centers for Disease Control, has launched a funding opportunity aimed at enhancing surveillance and research on birth defects and stillbirths in the U.S.. The initiative, titled Surveillance and Case Control Study of Stillbirth and Birth Defects (SUCCSSBD), is expected to provide an estimated total funding of $55 million, with the intention of awarding approximately 20 grants.
