WASHINGTON, Aug. 11 -- The Accountable Produce is Medicine Act, originally introduced by Sen. Jim Banks, R-Indiana, on August 5, 2026, has been analyzed by the Congressional Research Service. This legislation aims to amend the Social Security Act to require the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation to develop and test a model designed to reduce chronic diseases through the provision of nutritious produce.
