WASHINGTON, March 27 -- Sen. Ruben Gallego, D-AZ, has introduced the Providing Emotional Assistance with Relief and Love Act, or the PEARL Act, which aims to establish a pilot program within U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) for adopting dogs from local animal shelters. These dogs will be trained as support animals to assist CBP personnel in managing their emotional and psychological well-being.
