WASHINGTON, March 17 -- The U.S. Department of the Interior, through its Office of Insular Affairs (OIA), has announced a funding opportunity through the Brown Treesnake Program 2026 aimed at addressing the issues posed by the invasive Brown Treesnake (BTS) on Guam. With a total estimated funding of $4 million, the initiative seeks to prevent the species' migration to other U.S. jurisdictions, suppress its population on Guam, and contribute to the restoration of the island's native ecosystems.
