WASHINGTON, Dec. 24 -- Sen. John Cornyn, R-TX, has introduced the More Homes on the Market Act, aimed at increasing the financial exclusion for gains from the sale of a principal residence. The proposed legislation seeks to amend the Internal Revenue Code to elevate the gain exclusion from $250,000 to $500,000 for individual homeowners, and from $500,000 to $1 million for married couples filing jointly.
