HHS Initiates CARA Grants to Combat Youth Drug Misuse Through Community Coalitions

WASHINGTON, Oct. 2 -- The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, through the Centers for Disease Control - NCIPC, is inviting applications for the Fiscal Year 2026 Comprehensive Addiction and Recovery Act (CARA) Community-based Coalition Enhancement Grants. With an estimated total funding of $16.9 million, the program aims to address the pressing issues of opioid, methamphetamine, and prescription drug misuse among youth aged 12-18 in communities across the United States.
