WASHINGTON, Aug. 25 -- Oregon State Sen. David Brock Smith has submitted a public comment letter to the Food and Drug Administration expressing his strong objections to the proposed rule aimed at establishing a tobacco product standard for nicotine yield in cigarettes and other combustible tobacco products. Smith cautions that the rule, which he believes would effectively amount to a ban on combustible cigarettes, could lead to unintended adverse consequences, particularly for communities in Ore . . .
