WASHINGTON, Aug. 25 -- The Energy Marketers Association has expressed opposition to a proposed rule from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration that aims to limit nicotine levels in cigarettes and machine-made cigars. The association, which represents 48 state and regional energy marketing trade associations and tens of thousands of small business convenience store owners, argues that the rule would effectively ban nearly all commercially available tobacco products in these categories.
