WASHINGTON, Aug. 25 -- The Southern Association of Wholesale Distributors, LaGrange, Georgia, has issued a public comment letter to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration's Center for Tobacco Products, expressing strong opposition to a proposed rule regarding nicotine levels in cigarettes and other combusted tobacco products. SAWD represents manufacturers, distributors, and sellers of convenience products across 14 states, which collectively house 46% of the nation's convenience stores.
