WASHINGTON, July 17 -- Sen. Cory A. Booker, D-NJ, has introduced the Break the Cycle of Violence Act aimed at authorizing the Secretary of Health and Human Services to establish community-based violence reduction initiatives designed to create safer neighborhoods and enhance public safety. The bill comes in response to alarming trends in community violence, particularly among youth in underserved areas, and seeks to provide targeted support and resources.
