WASHINGTON, July 17 -- The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, through the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, has announced the Hepatitis C Elimination Initiative Pilot, allocating an estimated total funding of $100 million. This initiative aims to prevent, test for, treat, and cure Hepatitis C (HCV) among individuals with substance use disorder (SUD) and severe mental illness (SMI), particularly within communities deeply affected by homelessness.
