WASHINGTON, May 16 -- The U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) is allocating $5.76 million to fund groundbreaking research in melanoma through the "DoD Melanoma, Idea Award" program.
This initiative supports "innovative, exploratory, high-risk/potentially high-reward research." The program emphasizes novelty and innovation as key aspects of proposed projects. The DoD expects to fund approximately nine awards.
