WASHINGTON, April 11 -- The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), a bureau of the Department of the Interior, has announced a new funding opportunity under the Earth Mapping Resources Initiative (Earth MRI) to support state geological surveys in inventorying and characterizing mine waste.
