WASHINGTON, April 2 -- Sen. Alex Padilla, D-CA, has introduced the EARLY Minds Act, aimed at amending the Public Health Service Act to bolster prevention and early intervention services in mental health care, particularly for youth. The legislation seeks to enhance state-level initiatives by allowing funding specifically targeted at evidence-based strategies and programs designed to prevent or mitigate the onset of mental illness among children and adolescents.
