WASHINGTON, April 1 -- Sen. Marsha Blackburn, R-TN, has introduced the WHO is Accountable Act, aimed at prohibiting the use of federal funds to seek membership in the World Health Organization (WHO) or to provide financial contributions until specific accountability conditions are met. This legislation is part of a broader effort to reform international health governance and ensure that U.S. taxpayer money is not directed towards organizations perceived to mishandle humanitarian issues.
