WASHINGTON, April 1 -- Sen. Amy Klobuchar, D-MN, has introduced new legislation aimed at enhancing access to higher education through the Freedom to Invest in Tomorrow's Workforce Act. This bill seeks to amend the Internal Revenue Code by designating certain postsecondary credentialing expenses as qualified higher education expenses eligible for 529 accounts.
