WASHINGTON, March 31 -- Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, D-NY, has introduced a bill aimed at assessing the feasibility of establishing the African Burial Ground International Memorial Museum and Educational Center at the historic African Burial Ground National Monument in New York City. The proposed legislation directs the Secretary of the Interior to conduct a comprehensive study that would evaluate the site's suitability for such a significant cultural and educational facility.
