WASHINGTON, Jan. 20 -- The Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) is offering grants under the FY25 Matthew Shepard and James Byrd, Jr. Hate Crimes Program to support law enforcement and prosecution agencies in addressing hate crimes.
These crimes, committed due to a victim's perceived or actual race, color, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, or disability, will be the focus of outreach, education, victim reporting tools, and investigations.
