WASHINGTON, Aug. 30 -- Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., introduced the "Original Slavery Remembrance Day Resolution" on July 27, 2023. The text of the resolution was released on Aug. 27.

S.J. Res. 40. A joint resolution designating a "Slavery Remembrance Day" on August 20th, to serve as a reminder of the evils of slavery; to the Committee on the Judiciary.
