WASHINGTON, Nov. 24 -- The National Science Foundation announced that it expects to award grants for the acquisition of critical research instrumentation.

The agency description of the grant states: "The Major Research Instrumentation (MRI) Program (MRI Program Website) serves to increase access to multi-user scientific and engineering instrumentation for research and research training in our Nation's institutions of higher education and not-for-profit scientific/engineering researc . . .
