WASHINGTON, June 24 -- Sen. Tammy Duckworth, D-Ill., has introduced legislation (S. 4447) to "require all newly constructed, federally assisted, single-family houses and townhouses to meet minimum standards of visitability for persons with disabilities."
The bill was introduced on June 22 and was co-sponsored by Sen. Robert Casey Jr., D-Pa. It was referred to the Senate Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs Committee.
