WASHINGTON, Sept. 22 -- Sen. Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio, has introduced legislation (S. 2758) to "amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to impose an excise tax on stock buybacks of publicly traded corporations."
The bill was introduced on Sept. 20 and was co-sponsored by Sen. Ron Wyden, D-Ore. It was referred to the Senate Finance Committee.
