WASHINGTON, Sept. 22 -- Sen. Tina Smith, D-Minn., has introduced legislation (S. 2757) to "amend the Indian Self-Determination and Education Assistance Act to allow the Secretary of Agriculture to enter into self-determination contracts with Indian Tribes and Tribal organizations to carry out supplemental nutritional assistance programs."
The bill was introduced on Sept. 20 and has seven co-sponsors. Co-sponsors include Sens. Mike Rounds, R-S.D., Catherine Cortez Masto, D-Nev., Kirs . . .
