WHO to Receive $185,710,000 from CDC

WASHINGTON, June 15 -- The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced that it intends to award a $185,710,000 cooperative agreement to the World Health Organization of Geneva, Switzerland, for noncommunicable disease prevention and health promotion.

The agency description of the cooperative agreement states: "Worldwide, non-communicable diseases (NCDs) kill over 40 million people each year, representing 71% of the world's death . . .
