WASHINGTON, June 12 -- Sen. Edward J. Markey, D-Mass., has introduced legislation (S. 2002) to "provide that any termination of a director of a national research institute or national center of the National Institutes of Health be on the basis of malfeasance, neglect of office, or incapacity only."
The bill was introduced on June 10. It was referred to the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee.
