WASHINGTON, June 11 -- Sen. Jeanne Shaheen, D-N.H., has introduced legislation (S. 1997) to amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 "to provide that certain contributions by government entities are treated as contributions to capital."
The bill was introduced on June 9 and was co-sponsored by Sens. Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska, and Margaret Wood Hassan, D-N.H. It was referred to the Senate Finance Committee.
