WASHINGTON, June 1 -- Sen. Christopher S. Murphy, D-Conn., has introduced legislation (S. 1955) to amend title II of the Social Security Act "to credit individuals serving as caregivers of dependent relatives with deemed wages for up to five years of such service."
The bill was introduced on May 28 and was co-sponsored by Sens. Tina Smith, D-Minn., Kirsten Gillibrand, D-N.Y., Tammy Duckworth, D-Ill., and Chris Van Hollen, D-Md. It was referred to the Senate Finance Committee.
