WASHINGTON, March 27 -- Sen. Thomas R. Carper, D-Del., has introduced legislation (S. 985) to amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 "to provide direct payments of the renewable electricity production credit, the energy credit, and the carbon oxide sequestration credit."
The bill was introduced on March 25 and was co-sponsored by Sens. Sheldon Whitehouse, D-R.I., and Martin Heinrich, D-N.M. It was referred to the Senate Finance Committee.
