WASHINGTON, March 3 -- Sen. Steve Daines, R-Mont., has introduced legislation (S. 501) to "prohibit earmarks.
The bill was introduced on March 1 and has nine co-sponsors. Co-sponsors include Sens. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, Joni Ernst, R-Iowa, James Lankford, R-Okla., Mike Lee, R-Utah, Ron Johnson, R-Wis., Rand Paul, R-Ky., Marco Rubio, R-Fla., Patrick Toomey, R-Pa., and Rob Portman, R-Ohio.
The legislation was referred to the Senate Rules and Administration Committee.
