WASHINGTON, March 3 -- Sen. Robert Menendez, D-N.J., has introduced legislation (S. 496) to amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 "to exclude from taxable income any student loan forgiveness or discharge."
The bill was introduced on March 1 and was co-sponsored by Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass. It was referred to the Senate Finance Committee.
