WASHINGTON, Feb. 26 -- Sen. Mike Braun, R-Ind., has introduced legislation (S. 471) to "allow Members of Congress to opt out of the Federal Employees Retirement System, and allow Members who opt out of the Federal Employees Retirement System to continue to participate in the Thrift Savings Plan."
The bill was introduced on Feb. 25 and was co-sponsored by Sen. Rick Scott, R-Fla. It was referred to the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee.
