WASHINGTON, Feb. 26 -- Sen. Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska, has introduced legislation (S. 467) to amend the Public Health Service Act "to establish a program to improve the identification, assessment, and treatment of patients in hospital emergency departments who are at risk of suicide."
The bill was introduced on Feb. 25 and was co-sponsored by Sen. Angus S. King Jr., I-Maine. It was referred to the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee.
