WASHINGTON, Feb. 26 -- Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., has introduced legislation (S. 463) to "require congressional approval of national emergency declarations and to repeal the emergency powers and authorities most susceptible to abuse."
The bill was introduced on Feb. 25 and was co-sponsored by Sen. Ron Wyden, D-Ore. It was referred to the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee.
