WASHINGTON, Feb. 26 -- Sen. Joni Ernst, R-Iowa, has introduced legislation (S. 446) to amend title 18, U.S. Code, "to criminalize any abortion or sterilization procedure performed without the informed consent of the person on whom such procedure is performed."
The bill was introduced on Feb. 25 and was co-sponsored by Sens. Thom Tillis, R-N.C., Kevin Cramer, R-N.D., Cindy Hyde-Smith, R-Miss., and Roger Marshall, R-Kan. It was referred to the Senate Judiciary Committee.
