WASHINGTON, Feb. 26 -- Sen. Richard J. Durbin, D-Ill., has introduced legislation (S. 411) to "improve Federal efforts with respect to the prevention of maternal mortality."
The bill was introduced on Feb. 24 and has nine co-sponsors. Co-sponsors include Sens. Tammy Duckworth, D-Ill., Jeanne Shaheen, D-N.H., Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio, Debbie Stabenow, D-Mich., Richard Blumenthal, D-Conn., Amy Klobuchar, D-Minn., Tina Smith, D-Minn., Chris Van Hollen, D-Md., and Bernie Sanders, I-Vt.
