WASHINGTON, Nov. 10 -- The U.S. Department of the Interior's National Park Service announced that it expects to award grants for African American civil rights historical research, documentation, survey and nomination projects.
The agency description of the grant states: "The National Park Service's (NPS) African American Civil Rights Grant Program (AACR) will document, interpret, and preserve the sites and stories related to the African American struggle to gain equal rights as citi . . .
