WASHINGTON, Oct. 23 -- Sen. Jeff Merkley, D-Ore., has introduced legislation (S. 4835) to "prohibit bank holding companies from facilitating fossil fuel production from new sources or new or expanded fossil infrastructure that would drive such production."
The bill was introduced on Oct. 21. It was referred to the Senate Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs Committee.
