WASHINGTON, Oct. 23 -- Sen. Jeff Merkley, D-Ore., has introduced legislation (S. 4834) to "require the use of the voice and vote of the U.S. in international financial intuitions to advance the cause of transitioning the global economy to a clean energy economy and to prohibit U.S. Government assistance to countries or entities to support fossil fuel activity."
The bill was introduced on Oct. 21. It was referred to the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.
