WASHINGTON, Oct. 23 -- Sen. Edward J. Markey, D-Mass., has introduced legislation (S. 4832) to "prohibit the use of U.S. embassies or consulates in raising funds for foreign political parties or candidates."
The bill was introduced on Oct. 21. It was referred to the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.
